The URANTIA Book
	  Discover our true...
	  Origin, History and Destiny!

New Outreach Tools for
Urantia Book Students

Imagine this scenario: You’re shopping for groceries, attending a sports event, entering a church, or simply walking through your neighborhood, when someone taps you on the back and asks: “What’s The Urantia Book?”

That question didn’t come out of the blue. You’re wearing a backpack that carries the words “The Urantia Book” in large letters, followed by a tagline that reads: “Discover our true origin, history and destiny.”

As you turn to greet the questioner, you’re thankful for a new opportunity to spread this wonderful revelation…

Be the First Person to Tell Someone Else!

The backpack is one of four outreach tools created by the Outreach Committee of the Urantia Society of Greater New York, as a novel way of informing more people about the book’s existence. The “Urantia Book Community Outreach Kit” also contains a black tote bag, a lapel button, and a one-page flier that could be handed to the questioner or stuck on a notice board.

The NY committee, chaired by Nick Curto, has been working hard to develop the kit. Its purpose, Nick explains, is to provide each Urantia Book reader, wherever they may live, with simple yet effective tools to reach out to people in their communities.

“It’s to inform them that there is a very special and truly unique book that is now here for us all, and is now available for free to answer their deepest questions and to guide them to the best path in their own life’s journey… and well beyond.

“It’s truly a wonderful feeling when you are the person who first informed someone about The Urantia Book and now it has become an important and rewarding part of their lives,” he continues. “This new Urantia community outreach project will enable UB readers to do just that simply and effectively!”

The “Messenger of Light” Official Team

His approach to the outreach tools was to communicate simply, clearly, and effectively, with design flair and clear, readable text.

The committee, he says, also worked to keep the price low and affordable. The “Kit” costs $25 for the four items mailed to your home, plus the price of mailing depending on where you are located (contact Nick for the final price).

“We also encourage you to please consider purchasing more than one kit so you may give them to your family and friends who also read The Urantia Book. The ‘Kit’ makes a great gift and it keeps on giving!”

Anyone who purchases the kit will become a member of the “Messenger of Light” official team, and will receive updates about what other team members’ experiences have been like and what people have asked them after seeing the outreach logo and reading the tagline.

The black tote bag is made of environment-friendly cotton and canvas and is suitable for shopping trips. The logo is large enough to be read from a distance.

The black drawstring backpack may be worn anywhere. The word URANTIA stands out, so that people may remember it and look it up on the internet. They would probably come across one of the three major websites where they could read the book for free in one of several languages.

"The Urantia Book" pin and fliersThe other two items are the lapel button and a master copy sheet to produce small handouts or fliers, or to tag on bulletin boards or leave where they can be picked up. The copy sheet (8½″×11″) is divided into four equal sections with convenient cut marks so it can be placed in a copy machine to make multiple copies.

The sheet contains a statement about the contents of The Urantia Book and lists three websites for folks to read or listen to the book.
